Delegate Paul Krizek Announces Bid for Re-election with Overwhelming Support
Raises Over $60K in One Week; Earns Key Endorsement from Congressman Don Beyer
Mt. Vernon, VA — Delegate Paul Krizek, the ten-year incumbent representing Virginia's 16th District in the House of Delegates, is proud to announce his campaign for re-election. In just one week since the legislative session ended, Delegate Krizek has already secured over 300 signatures—well over twice the number of signatures required to qualify for the ballot—demonstrating strong grassroots enthusiasm for his leadership.
In the same week, Krizek raised approximately $60,000 in contributions, bringing his cash on hand to over $200,000. This quick uptick of support showcases the strong relationships he has built with his community.
As a seasoned legislator and a subcommittee Chair on the House Appropriations Committee, Delegate Krizek has a proven track record of delivering results for his community.
Throughout this past legislative session, Delegate Krizek passed over a dozen budget amendments, including $5 million for protecting mobile home parks from development and displacement. Half of his bills made it through the legislative process. His leadership has been critical on issues such as the planned overhaul of Virginia’s litter tax and increased focus on problem gambling. Delegate Krizek has led the charge in fighting against illegal gambling “skill game” convenience store slot-like machines, raising the age to gamble, pushing back on the expansion of gaming until a regulator/watchdog is created, working tirelessly to protect Virginians from harmful policies and advocating for regulations that support the state's long-term prosperity.
“My father was a veteran of the USAF, a long-time federal worker, and a Foreign Service Officer. My mother immigrated here for a better life, volunteering and working for local charities like United Community. My family has a long history of valuing service to others and our country, and this sense of duty has been passed down to me. That is why I believe so deeply in upholding my commitment to my wonderful community and will do what is necessary to protect your voices in Richmond,” said Delegate Krizek. “As I file for re-election, it is clear to me that federal oversight of Trump and Elon Musk is virtually non-existent. Local state lawmakers are the last line of defense, and it is at the state level where we will hold our leaders’ actions accountable.”
Krizek received a key endorsement this week from Congressman Don Beyer, VA-8, who praised his steadfast commitment to the people of Virginia.
"Delegate Krizek’s efforts in ensuring the best for his constituents is the reason he’s elected time and time again. From supporting working families to ensuring fair policies, Paul puts the people of Virginia first, and he will continue to do so. His proven leadership and enthusiastic work ethic make him the only choice to represent Virginia’s 16th District. I am so proud to know him and to support his bid for another term, said Congressman Beyer.”
Delegate Krizek will continue to fight for Virginia’s future. His next term will focus on passing legislation that addresses important issues such as the aftershock effects brought about by the mass federal cuts and layoffs being perpetuated by Republicans. He will address economic development, protecting consumers, environmental protections, education, and ensuring a brighter future for all Virginians.
Delegate Krizek remains focused on building a Virginia that works for everyone, ensuring that our communities are not only protected but thriving. With a strong base of support and an ability to deliver results, Delegate Krizek is ready to continue serving District 16 and is grateful for the trust his community has placed in him.
